From wicker to Pin Mini Bucket

Le Pin Mini Bucket Osier adds a touch of freshness to any summer ensemble.

French basket weaving from the Loire Valley is known for its quality and structural integrity. Delvaux collaborated with the best wicker growers and basket makers of the region to bring this exclusive model to life. The willow used for the weaving is harvested in winter. It is cut, sorted and rated before being soaked in basins. In spring, it is peeled to obtain raw, natural wicker, which is then left to dry in the open air.

To facilitate the weaving process, the leather sole of the Pin Mini Bucket is slightly larger than that of the classic model. This adjustment allows the basket weaver to attach wicker rods that will form the body of the bag, which is then woven directly onto the wicker structure.

The artisan uses a wood mould to guide the braiding so that it follows the distinctive shape of the Pin. The braiding begins. Wicker stems and lengths of leather are intertwined from top to bottom, without interruption. The wicker strands are dampened regularly throughout the process to ensure their flexibility. The signature leather handle is added during the last phase of the braiding process and fastened to the body of the bag with leather rivets.
